The Infernot Cellar

Get in touch with the Town Hall to visit the Infernot  cellar by appointment. The infernot cellar is one of the typical hand-dug cellars in the very local Pietra da Cantoni, the calcareous and marine stone typical of our UNESCO territory. The infernot cellars are unique works  making up the tangible  and the ICH (Intangible Cultural Heritage) of The Casalese Monferrato.

 

 


 

 

The Big Bench

Located on one of the most scenic views around the village, close to the country Church of Saint Grato on the road to Ottiglio, our Big Bench number 48 is an essential destination to discover the beauty of the Monferrato landscape in the same awe of when we were kids.

 

 


 

 

Memorial Museum

Inaugurated in 2017 on his family’s and on the local council ‘s will , it is the only Museum in the world dedicated to Nanni Ricordi, Italian music producer of international renown and “ first ever inventor of  singers and songwriters”. Mr Ricordi chose Sala Monferrato to live part of his life in.
The museum is located in 16 , Via Roma in Sala. It can be visited only by appointment.

 

 


 

 

Terremerse

A series of iron sculptures by Sculptor Giorgia Sanlorenzo and scattered all over the Monferrato Area to, sort of, bring back to life and tell the story of the ancient sea creatures of the Miocene oceans covering the territory eons ago. This walk through the past starts right with the “Capasanta” (scallop) in Sala Monferrato.

 

 


 

 

The "Pietra da Cantoni" Ecomuseum

Opened in 2003 after complete restoration of the Ancient Palazzo Volta, the Ecomuseum is located in the old town centre of Cellamonte. Its aim is  to highlight the history and landscape of our territory, chiefly represented by the Pietra da Cantoni  (the calcareous and marine stone typical of our UNESCO territory) and its infernot  cellar.

 

 


 

 

Extended "Conceptual" Farmer Museum

A new conception of museum made up of thirty different designated positions spread over the whole village and surrounding territory of Rosignano Monferrato. This museum tells the story of farming life in the Monferrato Casalese by displaying big and small past agricultural tools, each featuring its own QR code for an online insight.

 

 


 

 

The “Trifulau” truffle hunters track in valle Ghenza

A level track plunged into nature starting along SP42 road, shortly before the fork to Frazione Stevani in Rosignano Monferrato. It aims at highlighting the culture of Valle Ghenza white truffles by leading visitors along the walk with its ten explanatory boards.

 

 


 

 

The Synagogue of Casale Monferrato

Built in 1595 and deemed to be among the most significant in Europe, it is rich in gold artifacts, stuccoes and Piedmontese Rococo decorations. With its two museums also enshrining the main objects of worship, it bears out the historical testimony of the Jewish Community in Casale.
